LOTS OF SPORTS, LOTS OF BEARS

Another weekend is almost upon us.  This week got away from me as I am working on plans for Memorial Day weekend, this summer and of course more Year 40 celebrations.  But there is lots planned for you to enjoy right now at Touché. So let’s “Play Ball!”

We have both the NCAA Final Four and Championship games as well as Opening Day for baseball.   We’ll be tuning in all the games all weekend so you can catch the games and enjoy the good times at the bar.

03-29-17wThe weekend gets rolling on Friday with our annual CUBS/SOX FANS FACEOFF.  We want to see your team gear, are you a fan of the northside or southside team?  Show it off and we’ll give you a chance to win tickets to a game this coming season.

march madnessSaturday is April 1st but we’re not fooling around.  We’ll tune in the Final Four games beginning at 5pm with South Carolina and Gonzaga and then the Oregon-North Carolina game just before 8pm.  Not sure who you’re cheering for but I’ll go with the underdog South Carolina.  Let’s see if they make it to Monday’s big finale.

DSCN2795wOnce the games wrap, we’ll jump right into our BEAR NIGHT on Saturday.  It’s Chicago’s original bear party and still going strong.  You can meet bears, cubs and more from across the city and the Midwest each month at Touché.  Our DJ Harry T will be in the booth giving us the great music to keep the party going all night.  And to keep you going, there’s our Midnight Pizza Panic with lots of hot, tasty pizza.  Grab a couple of slices and then get to work on those bears in the house.

CCW 2017-wHow about something sweet?  Come on back on Sunday afternoon for Trident Windy City’s CUPCAKE WARS.  Bakers from various local leather clubs and organizations will present their best cupcakes for tasting and judging and it looks like there will at least 10 bakers to sample. This sweet feast is a benefit for the Broadway Youth Center and we want to top last year’s amount raised (which provided 2 months worth of meals for the kids)  While there is a judging panel, guests are able to vote for their favorite too and you can even bid on your favorite cupcake, all to help the cause.  The tasting begins at 5pm, don’t be late and left with just the crumbs.

Of course Sunday is also BEER BUST day with $1 drafts of Bud & Bud Light along with sodas and Pucker shots all day.  The money you save on drinks can be donated to the BYC.

cubs2Once the cupcakes are cleared away, the party’s not over.  There’s our MOVIE NIGHT in the Club Room at 7pm. Enjoy the latest Hollywood releases on our huge HD screen with Surround Sound in the back.  Or grab a seat at the front bar when we tune in Opening Day to watch our Chicago Cubs back in action against the Saint Louis Cardinals.  I know you are all ready for a World Series Championship repeat.

white sox2The sports hub bub comes to a big head on Monday. Touché will open early at 3pm this Monday so we can tune in the White Sox home opener game against those Tigers.  Play hooky, call in sick, get off early (work, I’m talking about getting off work early, you can get off anytime) and come watch the Sox start the 2017 season with a cold one at Touché.

march madnessCapping the day off will be the NCAA Championship game this night.  We won’t know which two teams will face off but you can bet on it being one great game.  Our COCK&TAIL HOUR specials run 6-9pm and we’ll lay in some pizzas to chow done while we watch it all unfold.  Should be a fun night. (Don’t forget the Club Room is now open on Mondays at 10pm, too)

Our Spring Bike raffle is about to launch, I have news on a couple of Year 40 events coming up in April and our Bike Team is busy training and fundraising this spring, too.  Lots more to share next week.  I’m rushing to finish my work this week as I’ll want to watch all the games this weekend too.  Loading up the bar with beer today, just to be sure we have plenty to drink while we watch.  Join us!
